  • Steuben Glass Snail Sculpture 1028 with Box by Peter Schelling

    Steuben Glass has been creating luxurious and exquisitely sculpted crystal glassware for over a century in New York. Each sculpture and meaningful creation evokes the spirit and craftsmanship that the company has been known for. This particular sculpture, Snail, was designed by Peter Schelling in the 1970s. The design number is 1028. It is a crystal glass shell which rests on a vermeil 'foot' and head with lapis lazuli beads attached to represent the eyespots. The underside is stamped 'STERLING' and 'Steuben'. Its body measures 7" in length, 3 3/4" in width and 3 1/4" in height. It weighs about 3 pounds, 4 ounces without the box. The glass is in Excellent condition and the gold overlay is missing in some areas over the sterling. The original red Box is included and it does show some outside wear on its underside.
