Vintage Cabochon Ruby Ring with Diamonds 18K Gold 2.84ctw

A bold round cabochon cut natural ruby rests prominently at the center of this exquisite vintage diamond encrusted ring. The solid 18kt gold setting holds this ruby in a secure bezel setting with a high polished lip around it. The high content 18 karat gold really brings out the deep purplish red hues of the ruby which weighs about 2.40 carats. The ruby does have very small surface inclusions which can be seen with a jewelers loupe. It is flanked to its East and West sides by single cut bezel set diamonds and surrounding these are smaller bead set single cuts. An interesting beaded texture is applied where the diamonds are encrusted which contrasts intensely next to the soft bulb of the cabochon cut. The total diamond weigh comes to .44 carats and they are I in color and SI2 in clarity. The ring weighs 7.2 grams and is currently a size 8.25.
