Reed & Barton Love Disarmed Sterling Flatware 12 Service 125 Pieces

We’re happy to present to you one of the most beloved and sought-after sterling silver flatware patterns by Reed & Barton: Love Disarmed. This pattern was originally hand-finished in 1899 by Charles A. Bennet in Taunton, Massachusetts, and has been remade several times. This particular set is a combination of pieces made when it was originally crafted in 1899, hence the stamp on the back (pat. appl'd for), and pieces made in later years. The scene depicts Cupid nestled next to a woman wearing a diaphanous gown, who appears to have disarmed Cupid’s bow with her left hand, holding it against her body, while Cupid tugs at it with his empty left hand. This is a 12-piece serving set with 17 extras, housed in a beautiful Reed & Barton wooden box with one drawer. The box does not fit all of the extra serving pieces, so those will be individually bubble-wrapped and included in a separate box. Often regarded as the best Art Nouveau figural pattern of all time, this stunning 125-piece collection features a wide variety of serving pieces in excellent condition.
